Job Title: Repair Technician (1st Shift) ($18.50/hr.)

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume appliance repair and refurbishment operation in a large distribution facility. Repair Technicians perform hands-on work to clean, prepare, and assist with basic repairs on consumer appliances, ensuring they are ready for shipment to customers. This is a full-time position with a MondayFriday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., ideal for individuals who enjoy physical, detail-oriented work in a warehouse environment and are eager to learn new technical skills through paid training. Responsibilities

  • Support appliance repair and refurbishment operations by performing hands-on tasks in a warehouse setting.
  • Clean appliances thoroughly before and after repairs are completed to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Wrap and prepare appliances for shipment using appropriate protective materials to prevent damage in transit.
  • Move appliances safely throughout the warehouse using a dolly and transport them to the appropriate departments for repair and processing.
  • Assist with basic repairs and part replacements under guidance, with paid training provided to build technical skills.
  • Remove products from shipping cartons and stage them for inspection, testing, and repair activities.
  • Perform final cleaning, inspection, and preparation to confirm products are ready for shipment.
  • Follow established repair, inspection, and safety procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while meeting production and quality expectations.

Essential Skills

  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate cleaning, preparation, and inspection of appliances.
  • Experience or familiarity with consumer electronics repair, appliance troubleshooting, and diagnostic testing and fault isolation.
  • Ability to perform component and parts replacement and basic repair tasks with training.
  • Strong technical communication skills to understand instructions and share information clearly with team members.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment and performing hands-on repair and refurbishment tasks.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time during the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Comfort working in a nonclimate-controlled warehouse environment when required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in consumer electronics and appliance repair, with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Experience with inspection processes and quality checks in a warehouse or repair environment.
  • Experience in repair, refurbishment, or related technical work is beneficial.
  • Ability to use basic warehouse tools and equipment, including dollies and packing materials.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety and team collaboration.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, approximately 800,000-square-foot distribution facility with a clean and organized work environment. The facility is somewhat temperature controlled, though some areas may be nonclimate-controlled, and the work involves standing, walking, and moving appliances throughout the shift. You will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., using warehouse equipment such as dollies and packing materials to handle and prepare appliances. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency, providing a structured setting where you can focus on hands-on repair and refurbishment tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
